The History of Monday Night Proofing Co.
Monday Night Brewing originally grew out of a small Atlanta Bible study. They started brewing beer together on Monday nights in 2006 as a way to get to know each other better. As they learned more about brewing (and each other), they started making better, more complex beers. Friends, neighbors, and random strangers started joining them and hanging together. Beer quickly became more than just a weeknight hobby. Back in our home-brewing days, the three founders (Jeff, Joel, and Jonathan) had white collar day jobs. They wore neckties to work and would ceremoniously loosen their ties on Monday evenings before brewing that week’s batch of beer.
Monday Night at Kern’s
Now, Monday Night Brewing has joined Kern’s Food Hall, opening multiple bar concepts that cater to a range of tastes and preferences. These include the Market Bar, where patrons can enjoy a wide selection of local and regional brews; the High Proof Loft (HPL), which offers a curated experience of high-alcohol content beers for the more adventurous palate; the Scruffy Bar, a nod to Knoxville’s nickname with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere; and, of course, the Monday Night Proofing Co. itself, where the brand’s signature beers and craft cocktails take center stage. Each of these venues provides a unique slice of the Monday Night Brewing experience, making Kern’s Food Hall a must-visit destination for beer enthusiasts.
US Open Beer Championship
Highlighted in their recent blog are some amazing accomplishments:
“The 2024 US Open Beer Championship announced its medal winners on July 8, 2024, and we’re proud to say that Monday Night Brewing was named the #2 brewery in the US by this highly-regarded competition. All told, Monday Night Brewing took home 4 Gold medals and 4 Bronze medals.”
