Kern’s Food Hall Opening Week
Kern’s Food Hall Opening Week
The opening of Kern’s Food Hall was an unforgettable affair, marked by an overwhelming wave of support and enthusiasm from our beloved community. From the preview night to the bustling activities throughout the opening weekend, our vendors were buzzing with excitement, serving up an their of delights to an eager crowd. We had the pleasure of hosting romantic date nights, family gatherings, and vibrant girls’ night outs. We were even honored by a visit from Mayor Indya Kincannon, making our celebration even more special. The spotlight shone brightly on us, thanks to the generous news coverage and the multitude of posts and shares across social media platforms. We’re deeply moved by the outpouring of love and engagement from everyone involved—it truly was a community effort.
Preview Day with The Kern’s Kids
Starting with the preview night, we were honored to host Kern’s Kids – a community of individuals who were affiliated with Kern’s Bakery in various capacities over the years. Their gathering at the newly opened Kern’s Food Hall was both touching and symbolic, serving as a bridge between the bakery’s rich history and its vibrant future. The group brought along Kern’s Bakery memorabilia and vintage photographs. Each piece told a story of the bakery’s legacy. Their wonderful stories of Kern’s Bakery filled the air, weaving memories that connected all who were present. We were beyond honored to host this reunion, reminding us of the deep roots and personal connections that make Kern’s more than just an old bakery but a landmark of shared history and community.
Opening Day
Opening day itself was also a sight to see—the parking lot was full, and our vendors were swamped with patrons, the best “problem” we could have hoped for. Dogs and their owners got in on the fun too, taking full advantage of the fact that dogs are allowed on the patio areas and inside Monday Night Proofing Co.’s separate bar area. Families enjoyed our expansive Great Lawn, engaging in lawn games like our huge Connect Four, adding a cheerful ambiance to the whole atmosphere. As the night progressed, the party’s energy soared with live music from Donnie and the Dry Heavers. Guests could enjoy the performance up close to our theater stage or from a more laid-back perspective at our two rooftop bars, making for an unforgettable opening night filled with joy and community spirit.
More In Store
As we reflect on our successful opening, we want to remind everyone that this is just the beginning. In the near future, we are excited to welcome new additions to our family, including Archer Paper Goods and Awaken Coffee, both of which are only days away from opening their doors. Soon after, we’ll see the debut of Ooh La La Indian Cuisine and Hemingway’s Cuban Kitchen, adding even more variety to our vibrant food hall. The momentum doesn’t stop here; the pipeline of new vendors opening will continue to grow, as we have many more in the rendering stage, poised to bring their unique offerings to our community.
